Creative Conflict

Taught by: Barbara Burgess

Do you shudder at the idea of engaging in conflict? Or maybe you cringe at the ways you step into conflict boldly without resolving it? Whether you tend to orient to avoiding conflict or don't necessarily know how to create mutually satisfying outcomes in conflict, one thing is definite: most of us have a mistaken definition of conflict and the possibilities it can bring. In this one hour workshop, you'll discover how you can embrace the idea that we are all living in conflict all the time. You will get a brief introduction to the 5 conflict styles and you'll learn how this insight can help you embrace the possibilities that conflict has to offer. If you want to be a successful leader, manager, parent, friend, or partner, conflict is a critical pathway to satisfaction and success.

Use conflict to create better rapport by learning about the five different conflict styles and seeing how your style may or may not work in different situations

Develop strategies to feel more at ease in a variety of relationship situations

Embrace a more universal and inclusive view of conflict (face it-it's unavoidable in life) and be more at ease with everyday conflicting situations and leverage your insights to maximize outcomes

Courses at the Wright Foundation

My husband and I work very hard continuing to nurture a meaningful relationship. As two high powered executives with 2 young children, it is so easy to get lost in the day to day routine of life. The workshops have helped us to not only stay connected while we are apart, but to also help us deepen our relationships with each other.

"I went from someone who was never really fully able to express myself to being able to open up and share what I was thinking in my relationships. I am now able to really go for what I want in life and be much more satisfied than I was before. I am definitely transformed and so has my relationship with my wife."

- Cory C

"The relationship skills I have learned in these courses have been invaluable. From being a lone ranger in my design work, I went on to start my own company and then partner in business with my husband. We use these skills every day. They are priceless."
